FORMER DEPUTY FISCAL OFFICER FOR WESTERVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY INDICTED FOR THEFT IN OFFICE

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Troy D. Cockrell, age 51, for one count (F-3) Theft in Office and one count (F-3) Tampering with Records, for a total of two counts . Cockrell was a Deputy Fiscal Officer for the Westerville Public Library located at 126 S. State Street in Westerville. It is alleged that between October 31, 2011 to October 9, 2014, there was a total of $26,062.10 in missing funds that had been taken by Cockrell from various entities within the library where guests would pay fines or would purchase various services or items, such as the coffee shop or coin operated machines located inside the library. “If found guilty on these charges, this former Fiscal Officer faces a potential incarceration of 6 years”, O’Brien stated.
