FORMER FOOTBALL PLAYER INDICTED FOR CHILD ENDANGERING OF

Defendant: Kenneth Leon Hayes, Jr.

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment on Kenneth Leon Hayes, Jr., age 22, for one count Felonious Assault (F-2), one count Endangering Children (F-2), and one count Endangering Children (F-3), for a total of three counts.  On December 16, 2014, Hayes called 911 from the Hilliard apartment of his girlfriend at the time, while he was caring for her 5 year-old son.  Paramedics took the boy to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with injuries similar to those of shaken baby syndrome.  “If found guilty of these charges, Hayes faces a potential ten years’ incarceration”, O’Brien said.  Arraignment for Hayes will be set for Friday, January 16, 2015, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street.
