Defendant: Kimberly Jones

rosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Kimberly N. Jones, age 44, for one count (F-4) Theft in Office, and two counts (F-3) Tampering with Records, for a total of three counts. Jones was hired into the Columbus Schools system in 1998, and was most recently the Principal at Stewart Elementary school until she resigned earlier this year.  It is alleged in the indictment that Jones fraudulently applied and obtained benefits from the Columbus Public Schools Free Lunch Program for her two children. The maximum income for a household of 4 persons to participate in the Free Lunch Program per Federal Income Guidelines is $41,348, and Jones income exceeded that amount. “If found guilty on these charges, this former Principal in the Columbus School District faces up to 7-1/2 years incarceration”, O’Brien stated.
