Forty People Indicted In Massive Seizure Of Crystal Meth

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments against forty separate individuals allegedly involved in the importation, sale, or possession of methamphetamine and other drugs of abuse. The charges range from (RICO) Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity, Aggravated Trafficking in Methamphetamine with a major drug offender specification, Aggravated Possession of Methamphetamine with a major drug offender specification, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Heroin, Aggravated Possession of Ecstasy or MDMA, Possession of Marijuana, Burglary, Having Weapon While Under Disability, and Identity Fraud. According to O’Brien, this is the result of more than a year of investigation by multiple agencies under the operational leadership of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force and Columbus Police Strategic Response Bureau. “The investigation led to the seizure of more than five pounds of crystal meth with a street value of more than a quarter million dollars”, O’Brien stated. O’Brien further stated, “According to investigators, this is believed to be the largest seizure of crystal meth in Central Ohio history”. Investigators have advised that 19 individuals have been picked up and they are out searching for the others.
