Defendant: Dennis Russell Watson, Sr.
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that earlier this week the Franklin County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Dennis Russell Watson, Sr., age 58, for one count (F-1) Felonious Assault with Repeat Violent Offender Specification (as stated in count one of the indictment), one count (F-3) Obstructing Justice, one count (F-3) Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer, and one count (F-4) Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer, for a total of four counts. Watson’s son, Dennis R. Watson, Jr., age 31, was indicted in May by a Summit County Grand Jury in connection to the death of his 2-month old daughter. On May 6th, US Marshals and police were attempting to capture Watson Jr. in Columbus when it is alleged that Watson Sr. tried to run a deputy down when US Marshal Frank Defransisco tried to stop them. “Watson Sr. should be in court early next week”, O’Brien stated.
