Posted on 4/12/2013
Defendant: Tyler Dunkle
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Tyler J. Dunkle, age 22, for two counts Murder (unclassified), and one count Tampering with Evidence (F-3), for a total of three counts, in connection to the March 29, 2013 death of his mother Terri Menendez, age 44, that occurred inside their apartment located at 2596 Westham Way in Hilliard. After receiving several calls on Monday, April 1st from concerned family and friends regarding the well being of Terri Menendez, the Hilliard Police went to her residence, where they found her deceased in a closet. O’Brien stated, “if convicted, Dunkle faces a potential sentence of 15 to life on the murder count and 3 years on the tampering count. There are two counts with only one victim because there are different methods to commit the crime of murder and the Prosecutor’s Office typically charges both methods.” Dunkle will be arraigned on Monday, April 15th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street.
