Indictment Of Four People Trafficking 30 Kilos Of Cocaine

Today, Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned four indictments against individuals allegedly involved in distributing and selling narcotics in Franklin County. Those indicted are Maricela Lopez, age 30, Saeed Kadi, age 40, James Adams, age 41, and Carlos Morales, age 28. All four defendants have been indicted for one count Possession of Cocaine with Major Drug Offender Specification (F-1) and one count Trafficking in Cocaine with Major Drug Offender Specification (F-1), for a total of two counts each.It is alleged that the delivery of 30 kilograms of cocaine was negotiated between Carlos Morales and Maricela Lopez, and that on June 5, 2011, Lopez, Kadi, and Adams received the cocaine. “If convicted, the defendants face a mandatory ten to twenty years incarceration”, O’Brien stated. Arraignments for Kadi, Lopez, and Adams are set for June 15, 2011 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 1A. Arraignment for Morales will be at a later date.
