KNIFEPOINT KIDNAPPER OF OSU DENTAL RESIDENT INDICTED

Defendant: Wayne Andrew Miller

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Wayne Andrew Miller, age 32, for one count Aggravated Robbery with Specification (F-1), two counts Kidnapping with Specifications (F-1), and one count Abduction (F-3), for a total of four counts, in connection the kidnapping that took place on the Ohio State University campus on April 16, 2015.  The Repeat Violent Offender Specifications in the indictment stem from a Lorain County case which included two counts of rape, one count of kidnapping, and one count of intimidation that Miller was convicted of in May of 2007, where he just recently was released after serving an 8 year sentence.  In the early morning hours last week, the victim, who is an OSU Dental Resident, was walking outside the College of Dentistry’s Postle Hall located at 305 W. 12th Avenue, when she was abducted at knifepoint and forced to walk for miles with the defendant until she was finally able to escape.  “If convicted on all charges, Miller faces in excess of forty years in prison”, O’Brien stated.  Arraignment for Miller will be set for next Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street.
