Defendant: Victor Drafton
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Victor Lamont Drafton, age 37, for one count Aggravated Robbery with a Repeat Violent Offender Spec (F-1), one count Aggravated Burglary with a Repeat Violent Offender Spec (F-1), and one count Kidnapping with a Repeat Violent Offender Spec (F-1), for a total of three counts. On January 17, 2012, Drafton allegedly entered the McDonald’s Restaurant located at 337 W. Bridge Street in Dublin and waited in the women’s restroom until closing. In the early morning hours, the manager arrived to open the restaurant, and once inside, she was confronted by a suspect holding a large butcher knife. She was ordered to open the safe and to fill a back pack with money, after which the defendant fled the scene. “This suspect had to be very deceptive in order to avoid detection for that amount of time”, O’Brien stated. O’Brien further stated, “If found guilty on these charges, the defendant faces in excess of thirty years incarceration”. Arraignment for Drafton is set for Monday, January 30, 2012 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2A at 345 S. High Street.
