MAN INDICTED FOR LURING VICTIMS INTO HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND PROSTITUTION SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today Raymont Abdul Durwin Moore AKA Shorty, age 42, plead guilty today to one count Attempted Trafficking in Persons (F-2), and one count of Compelling Prostitution (F-3) in connection to Moore prostituting out two adult female victims under the guise of relationships with both of them.  The indictment alleged that the Human Trafficking and Prostitution counts in the indictment involving one of the victims occurred over the time span of August 30, 2014 through July 22, 2015 and the time span of March 1, 2015 through June 3, 2015 for the other victim.  Moore controlled the two women with drugs and violence, while also supervising and taking all of the money from their prostitution work.  Moore was sentenced to seven years in prison and will be required to register as a Tier 2 sex offender.  Moore’s co-defendant and girlfriend, Anita Ross Gordon, age 34, plead guilty to one count of Promoting Prostitution (F-4), and is scheduled to be sentenced on April 15th.  O’Brien commended the Columbus Police Department, Organized Crime Investigations Commission, and the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force for their thorough investigation of this case.
