MAN INDICTED FOR VIDEOTAPING HIMSELF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A TEENAGER AND SHARING THE VIDEO

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This man videotaped himself sexually assaulting a teenager, turned the cell phone to his face, and recorded the entire incident.”  Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Mario Lemar Miller, age 30, in connection to a sexual assault that occurred on September 3, 2016 to a teenager at a home located on Wedgewood Drive in Columbus.  The victim and one of her friends were socializing at the house and at some point in the evening it is alleged that Miller sexually assaulted the victim, videotaped the entire sexual assault, and then he shared the recorded incident.  Shortly thereafter, the video appeared on Facebook.  Miller has been indicted for one count of Rape (F-1), one count of Sexual Battery (F-3), and one count of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Matter Involving a Minor (F-2), for a total of three counts.  “If Miller is convicted for these charges, he faces a potential sentence in excess of fifteen years in prison,” O’Brien stated.  O’Brien commended the Columbus Police for their thorough and rapid investigation of this case.  Arraignment for Miller is set for this Friday, October 28th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
