Man Pleads Guilty To Breaking & Entering Involving Computer Relating To Osu Bomb Threat Hoax

Today, Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that Jonathan M. Birkemeyer appeared in Common Pleas Court before Judge Schneider the day after his federal court appearance in connection with the related bomb threat hoax regarding the OSU library.
The appearance in State court was in connection with the burglary and possession of a stolen computer which was the laptop computer that was used to make the bomb threat, and which upon his arrest for possession of the computer he confessed to both the burglary, theft, and receiving stolen property as well as the bomb threat.
The Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office and U. S. Attorney’s Office worked jointly to resolve both cases by a plea agreement in both the federal and state cases.
Judge Schneider set the state court sentencing for September 14, 2011 a.m.
