Defendant: Michael Gene Quatrine

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Michael Gene Quatrine, age 51, for one count (F-4) Trademark Counterfeiting.  Quatrine was allegedly involved in selling counterfeit versions of the popular “Undisputed Champs:  2014 National Champions” Ohio State University t-shirts with the OSU  logo on them.  On January 24, 2015, the day of the OSU championship celebration in The Horseshoe, Quatrine had tables set up across the street on the northeast corner of Tuttle Park and W. Lane Avenue, where there were both black and white t-shirts being sold for $15 each.  “The official OSU athletic logo is registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office.  The logo on Mr. Quatrine’s shirts was identified by an OSU employee to be a counterfeit mark on the shirts for sale”, O’Brien stated.
