Defendant: Monique Curry
Today, Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a four count indictment on Monique Curry, age 33, for one count of Felonious Assault (F-2), one count of Endangering Children (F-2), one count of Endangering Children (F-3), and one count of Domestic Violence (M-1). On February 23, 2011, Monique Curry took her ten-month son to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for an injury to his eye. While at the hospital, the staff admitted the baby due to other serious injuries discovered during his examination. It is alleged that the biological mom had repeatedly punched the baby and spanked him with a belt. “It’s unfortunate this case involves an innocent baby being beaten by its own mother”, O’Brien said. Arraignment will be set for March 23, 2011, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 1A.
