Defendant: Erica Barley
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Erica Marie Barley, age 31, for one count Involuntary Manslaughter (F-1), and one count Child Endangering (F-3), for a total of two counts, in connection to the death of 14 month old toddler, Annabella Sagstetter, which was a proximate result of the toddler ingesting narcotics while in the care of her mother on May 27, 2015, which occurred in a drug house the defendant had entered located at 133 Columbian Avenue. While at the house, the toddler became unresponsive and was transported to Children’s Hospital. It was later determined that the baby had lethal doses of heroin and fentanyl in her system, which caused her death. “If convicted, Barley faces a potential sentence of eleven years in prison,” O’Brien stated.
