Defendant: Erica Marie Barley

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “It is unacceptable when we see a tragic and avoidable death of an innocent toddler from a heroin and fentanyl overdose”.  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that Erica Marie Barley, age 32, plead guilty today to one count of Involuntary Manslaughter (F-1) in connection to the death of 14 month old toddler, Annabella Sagstetter, which was a proximate result of the toddler ingesting narcotics while in the care of her mother on May 27, 2015.  Barley took her daughter to a drug house located at 133 Columbian Avenue, and while in the house, the toddler became unresponsive and was transported to Children’s Hospital.  It was later determined that the baby had lethal doses of heroin and fentanyl in her system, which caused her death.  “Barley faces a potential sentence of eleven years in prison,” O’Brien stated.  Her Sentencing is set for July 28, 2016.
