REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER AND SERIAL RAPIST PLEADS GUILTY TO 7 SEXUAL ASSAULTS OVER 3 MONTH TIME SPAN AND IS SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This serial rapist threatened to kill his 7 victims as he raped or attempted to rape them, all within a three month time frame.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that Andrew J. Morrison, age 53, has plead guilty in connection to three rapes and four attempted rapes that occurred between June and August, 2015 in Franklin County.  It total, Morrison plead guilty to three counts of Rape, four counts of Attempted Rape, and one count of Theft.  “In June of 2015, Morrison was indicted for victimizing his 88 year old mother for his unauthorized use of her debit card for $4,000, which is the Theft offense,” O’Brien said.  “At the time, Morrison was on federal probation stemming from a prior bank robbery conviction,” O’Brien further stated.  “Morrison was also convicted of Kidnapping and Rape, involving two victims back in the 1990’s and he spent thirteen years in prison for those crimes,” O’Brien said.  Following Morrison’s plea this afternoon, he was sentenced to twenty years in prison.  He is also classified as a Tier 3 sex offender and must register every 90 days for life.
