Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “Giving Benadryl to a baby can and did cause the death of this infant. Adults should never give medication or drugs of any kind to children without the approval of the child’s family doctor.” Today, Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Lori Ann Conley, age 43, for allegedly giving a lethal dose of Benadryl to an 8 month old infant she was babysitting. Conley has been indicted for one count of Involuntary Manslaughter, one count of Endangering Children, and one count of Tampering with Evidence. “Conley faces in excess of ten years in prison”, O’Brien stated.
