Defendant: Anthony James Reitan

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an eleven count indictment against Anthony James Reitan, age 26, for four counts of Corrupting Another With Drugs (F-2), two counts of Felonious Assault (F-2), two counts of Illegal Manufacture of Drugs (F-2), one count of Trafficking in Heroin (F-5), one count of Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs (F-4), and one count of Tampering with Evidence (F-3), in connection to the January 25, 2016 near fatal overdoses of Joshua Fluck, age 27, and his girlfriend Katherine Blissenbach, age 32.  It is alleged that on January 25th, Reitan met Fluck and Blissenbach, where Reitan sold the couple one clear capsule containing a white powder substance for $15.00.  Fluck and Blissenbach then drove themselves to the Speedway Gas Station at Noe Bixby and Chatterton, where the two injected the heroin and immediately overdosed.  An unknown passerby called 911 and reported seeing the two individuals using the drugs in their vehicle.  The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Truro Township EMS arrived and rendered immediate assistance, which ultimately saved their lives.  BCI tested the used capsule and found that it contained a mixture of Fentanyl and Heroin.  “If found guilty on these charges, Reitan faces in excess of twenty-five years in prison,” O’Brien stated.  O’Brien commended the conscientious citizen, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Heroin Overdose Prevention and Education Task Force (HOPE), and Truro Township EMS for their immediate life-saving responses and assistance in this case.
