RICO INDICTMENT FILED ON 5 PEOPLE INVOLVED IN 9.5 KILO HEROIN TRAFFICKING OPERATION IN COLUMBUS

Defendant: Raul Nunez-Altamirano,Anibal Lopez Acosta,Julio Herrera Gomez,Omar Enrique Sanchez,Manuel Montero
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments against five separate individuals involved in a heroin trafficking organization between June 30 to August 5, 2015. Individuals indicted are as follows:
Raul Nunez-Altamirano, age 35, 8375 Freedom Crossing, Columbus, OH 43235
Anibal Lopez Acosta, age 32, 3893 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, OH 43224
Julio Herrera Gomez, age 26, 856 Mark Place, Columbus, OH 43204
Omar Enrique Sanchez, age 26, 2491 Prendergast Place, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068
Manuel Montero, age 22, 3749 Taliesin Place, Columbus, OH 43219
The ten counts in the indictments include one count Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity and 9 counts Trafficking in Heroin. The Columbus Police Department, with the cooperation of the Delaware County Drug Task Force and the F.B.I. executed multiple search warrants at residences and apartments utilized by this organization. A total of approximately 9.5 kilograms of heroin were seized, as well as approximately $363,000 in U.S. currency
