Defendant: Dale Eugene Foughty and John Richard Sampson II
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned a RICO indictment against Dale Eugene Foughty, age 37, and John Richard Sampson II, age 33, for counts including Engaging in a Pattern of Corrupt Activity, Breaking and Entering, Receiving Stolen Property, Theft, and Grand Theft. Between August 31, 2014 and January 20, 2015, it is alleged that Foughty and Sampson stole vans and trucks, broke into newly constructed apartments, condominiums, and houses, and stole the appliances shortly after they were installed. These thefts were occurring in numerous parts of the county and the men were caught following police surveillance and the police placing GPS devices inside the appliances. “The total loss is valued at more than $100,000”, O’Brien stated. This new indictment is a reindictment of Foughty’s existing indictment 15CR452, and they are co-defendants of the existing indictment for Alan Ray Holley case number 15CR6188. Arraignments for both Foughty and Sampson will be set at later dates at 345 S. High Street.
