SECOND INDICTMENT FILED THIS MONTH AGAINST PARENTS FOR MANSLAUGHTER IN CONNECTION WITH TODDLER DRUG OVERDOSE DEATH

Defendant: Denise Dickinson and Kyle Black

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned indictments against Denise Nicole Dickinson, age 32, and Kyle Richard Black, age 29, both for one count Involuntary Manslaughter (F-1), and one count Child Endangering (F-3), for a total of two counts each, in connection to the death of their 11 month old toddler, Dominic Dickinson.  This was a proximate result of the toddler ingesting narcotics while in the care of his parents on May 13, 2015 and occurred in a house located at 1494 Blaine Drive where the family lived.  In the early afternoon, Police received a call saying there was a baby at this address that was not breathing.  Medics responded and pronounced the baby deceased shortly thereafter.  It was later determined that the baby had lethal doses of heroin and fentanyl in his system, which caused his death.  “If convicted, Dickinson and Black each face potential sentences of eleven years in prison,” O’Brien stated.
