Suspect Indicted For Attacks On Two Women On Osu Campus

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Philip D. Hall, Jr., age 45, for the attempted abductions of two women in separate incidents near the Ohio State University Medical Center on Friday, August 5, 2011. Hall allegedly held a 20 year old student at knife-point until she was able to free herself and yell for help. Moments later, the defendant is accused of threatening a 46 year old woman as she was attempting to get into her parked car. She was also able to escape. Hall has been indicted for one count (F-1) Kidnapping with Sexual Motivation Specification, Sexually Violent Predator Specification, and Repeat Violent Offender Specification, one count (F-2) Attempted Kidnapping with Repeat Violent Offender Specification, one count (F-3) Abduction, and one count (F-1) Aggravated Robbery with Repeat Violent Offender Specification, for a total of four counts. O’Brien commended the OSU and Columbus Police Departments for their diligence, rapid apprehension, and investigation of the case. O’Brien further stated, “there were several good Samaritans working nearby who came to the assistance of these women and who were able to provide the police with valuable information that helped in the initial search for the suspect”.
