Defendant: Nicholas Porreca

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Nicholas Louis Porreca II, age 33, in connection to an alleged attack of a woman in a room at the Worthington Holiday Inn on June 18, 2011. Porreca has been indicted for two counts Kidnapping (F-1), one count Attempted Murder (F-1), and one count Felonious Assault (F-2), for a total of four counts. The victim was at the hotel to attend a wedding when she was allegedly approached by the defendant who claimed he was in town to put on a wine tasting event and could provide her with information she could use when hosting an upcoming event. Shortly thereafter, the woman was allegedly pulled into the defendant’s room, was attacked, but managed to escape after fighting back. The defendant fled the scene and was later apprehended at the Waffle House on East Dublin-Granville Road near I-71. “If convicted on all charges, Porreca faces in excess of ten years incarceration”, O’Brien stated. Arraignment for Porreca is set for Friday, July 1st, 2011, at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2A at 345 S. High Street.
