Suspected “shiny Head Bandit” Indicted For Robberies

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against James Earl Gibson, age 27, for 2 robberies that occurred on August 5, 2011. The UDF, located at 2635 W. Broad Street, was robbed in the very early morning. Chase Bank, located at 3100 W. Broad Street was robbed in the late morning. “After the bank surveillance photos were aired by the media, the Columbus Police received dozens of phone tips identifying the robber as James E. Gibson”, O’Brien stated. Gibson has been indicted for two counts (F-2) Robbery, two counts (F-3) Robbery, one count (F-5) Receiving Stolen Property, one count (F-5) Forgery, and one count (F-3) Tampering with Evidence, for a total of seven counts. O’Brien stated, ”If found guilty on all charges, Gibson faces a maximum sentence exceeding twenty years”.
