Defendant: Milous Humphrey Keith
Franklin County Prosecutor said, “Based on two prior Felonious Assault convictions, this man was not allowed to possess the gun he used to shoot and kill his niece and to shoot and injure his nephew when he tried to quiet them down”. Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Milous Humphrey Keith, age 59, for one count of Aggravated Murder with Specifications (UF), one count of Murder with Specifications (UF), one count of Attempted Murder with Specifications (F-1), one count of Felonious Assault with Specifications (F-2), and one count of Having Weapons While Under Disability (F-3), for a total of five counts. “There are two counts of murder with only one deceased victim, because there are different methods to commit the crime of murder and the Prosecutor’s Office typically charges all methods”, O’Brien stated. The indictment alleges that on July 17th, 2016 Keith shot and killed his 12 year old niece and shot and severely injured his 10 year old nephew inside his mother’s house, which is also where the defendant lives, located at 2678 Kenview Road in Columbus. Arraignment for Keith is set for this afternoon, Wednesday, July 27th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street.
