Impaired Driver Indicted for Striking Cyclist in Upper Arlington and Fleeing Scene

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted Andrew S. Inglis, age 30, for one count (F-3) Aggravated Vehicular Assault (based on OVI), one count (F-4) Aggravated Vehicular Assault (based on recklessness), one count (F5) Failure to Stop After an Accident, and one count (M-1) Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, for a total of four counts, in connection to the November 3, 2013 hit-skip accident that occurred on McCoy Road in Upper Arlington. Steve Wartenberg, an avid cyclist and Columbus Dispatch reporter, was transported to the hospital in critical condition after witnesses contacted police immediately following Inglis fleeing the scene. “If convicted on these charges, Inglis faces a maximum sentence of 6½ years incarceration,” O’Brien stated. Arraignment for Inglis is set for Friday, November 8th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2A at 345 S. High Street.
