Today, Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned several indictments against individuals allegedly involved in an apparent Florida to Ohio link for prescription drug trafficking. Those indicted were Alexes Akers, age 21, her husband Christopher Akers, age 25, and Christopher’s father Ricky Akers, Sr., age 48. The husband and wife were arrested in early August of 2010, and police confiscated approximately 9,500 prescription pills and over $115,000 in cash. Ricky Akers was arrested last month. “If convicted on all charges, the defendants face in excess of twenty years incarceration”, O’Brien stated.
