Defendant: Bruce Cameron

A jury found Bruce Cameron of Dayton guilty of murdering fellow Dayton resident Dion Skipper in Columbus in 2021. Mark Wodarcyk and Tom Vaccaro, both assistant prosecuting attorneys with the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, prosecuted the case.

The jury determined Cameron shot and killed Skipper on the night of April 4, 2021, in the parking lot of a hotel at the intersection of I-71 and Dublin-Granville Road following an argument between the two men. The jury convicted Cameron on the murder charge after six hours of deliberation. Presiding judge Kim Brown found Cameron guilty of additional counts of aggravated robbery and weapon under disability.

Judge Brown will sentence Cameron on Oct. 5. He faces 21 years to life in prison.
