TEENAGER INDICTED FOR FATAL SHOOTING OF 18 YEAR OLD WEST HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT
Posted on 4/7/2016
Defendant: Tyler Jonathan Schailey
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Tyler Jonathan Schailey, age 19, for one count of Aggravated Murder with Specification, two counts of Murder with Specification, one count of Tampering with Evidence, and one count of Having Weapons While Under Disability, for a total of five counts, in connection to the March 20, 2016 shooting death of West High School student Abdikadir Abdikadir, age 18, that occurred outside an apartment building on Viotis Street in Franklin Township. “If convicted, Schailey faces the possibility of serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. There are three counts of murder with only one victim because there are different methods to commit the crime of murder and the Prosecutor’s Office typically charges all methods”, O’Brien stated. Schailey will be arraigned on tomorrow Friday, April 8th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street.
