20 YEAR OLD INDICTED FOR THE DEATH OF HIS TEENAGE ACCOMPLICE WHO WAS SHOT DURING AN ARMED ROBBERY IN CLINTONVILLE

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This man and his teenage accomplice entered into an apartment during the middle of the day, pulled out handguns, demanded property, and started shooting.” Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announces that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Collin Michael Campbell, age 20, for one count of Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, one count of Felonious Assault, one count Aggravated Robbery, and one count of Aggravated Burglary, all counts with firearm specifications, as well as one count of Having Weapons While Under Disability, for a total of six counts. The WUD count in the indictment is based on Campbell’s 2017 conviction for robbery. The indictment alleges that on November 27th, 2018, Campbell was involved in a home invasion armed robbery that resulted in the shooting death of his accomplice Duvon Julius Mathews, age 17, and the wounding of the intended apartment robbery victim Matthew Martin, age 21. The robbers and the robbery victim exchanged gunfire during the altercation. Police and Paramedics were dispatched to 4900 block of N. High Street near Morse Road on the report of the shooting. Both Mathews and Martin were transported to the hospital, however Mathews succumbed to his injuries the following day. Martin was treated and eventually released. Arraignment for Campbell will be this Wednesday afternoon, December 12th, 2018 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
