TEACHER/SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR INDICTED FOR HAVING SEX WITH A 13 YEAR OLD STUDENT

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien said, “This teacher and school administrator was engaging in inappropriate sexual acts with a student.”  Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted Brooke M. Wright, age 39, for two counts of Sexual Battery (F-3), and for two counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct With a Minor (F-3), for a total of four counts.  Wright was a former teacher and an administrator at Ventures Academy in Delaware, Ohio at the time of the offenses, and was suspended and placed on paid leave after school officials were notified of the criminal investigation in progress.  Between May and September 2019, it is alleged that Wright engaged in sexual acts with a 13 year old male student she was tutoring.  “The inappropriate sexual acts took place in multiple locations in Franklin County and if convicted on these charges, Wright faces numerous years of incarceration as well as registration as a sex offender,” O’Brien stated.  O’Brien commended the Columbus Police Department for their investigation of this case.  Arraignment for Wright is scheduled for Friday, November 15^th at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B at 345 S. High Street in downtown Columbus.
