MAN INDICTED FOR LURING VICTIMS INTO HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND PROSTITUTION

Defendant: Raymont Abdul Durwin Moore

Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced today that the Franklin County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against Raymont Abdul Durwin Moore AKA Shorty, age 41, for two counts of Trafficking in Persons (F-1), two counts of Compelling Prostitution (F-3), and one count Promoting Prostitution (F-4), for a total of five counts in connection to on-going abusive relationships involving two adult female victims.  Moore’s girlfriend, Anita Ross Gordon, age 34, was also indicted for one count (F-4) Promoting Prostitution.  The indictment alleges that the Human Trafficking and Prostitution counts in the indictment involving one of the victims occurred over the time span of August 30, 2014 through July 22, 2015 and the time span of March 1, 2015 through June 3, 2015 for the other victim.  O’Brien commended the Columbus Police Department and the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force for their thorough investigation of this case.  “If convicted on these charges, Moore faces a potential sentence in excess of twenty year’s incarceration,” O’Brien stated.  Arraignment for Moore is set for this Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 at 1:30 pm in courtroom 2B, at 345 S. High Street.
